Adeyemi Ogunkanmi, also known as Yemi Kanmi, is a Nigerian-American composer, songwriter, sound designer, audio engineer, creative director, educator, and adjective-collector.

Yemi’s mission through scoring and designing sound is to powerfully immerse listeners and inspire creative passion through captivating soundscapes and memorable mellifluence.

During study at the Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University, Yemi not only scored and designed sound for over a dozen animated short films, but created, directed, and composed for an original animated short film entitled L’Allunaggio del Lupo (which is playing behind this bio!).

Yemi has served as an assistant to ASCAP award-winning composer Brad Breeck (Gravity Falls, The Owl House, Kiff, StuGo, etc.), and as a composer and supervising sound editor for numerous animated web series from Shockwave Animation (Animation Station with Millie Martins, I Wanna Eat Your Guts), Tlacuache Studios (WCAnimated: Into the Wild), and more. Along with this, Yemi has taught piano, music theory, and composition to numerous students of all ages.

When not working, Yemi can be found playing jazz piano, learning trivia, studying languages, and cooking steak. A lot of steak.

Let's take your project to the next level.
