Yemi Kanmi is a composer, audio artist/producer, and media multihyphenate.

Yemi currently serves as a composer, sound supervisor, voice director, and script coordinator for Shockwave Animation, working on web series and projects in development such as I Wanna Eat Your Guts, Lacey's Webisodes, and Animation Station with Millie Martins. Yemi works in similar capacities on numerous other projects like Mirandamations’s Atlas and the Stars, Tlacuache Studios’s WCAnimated, and upcoming media from Boom Entertainment.

Along with this, Yemi has worked under ASCAP award-winning composer Brad Breeck on the music teams for Disney TV Animation series The Owl House, Kiff, and StuGo, and has contributed to numerous feature and short films such as Perfectly Us (2025), Beyond (2024), and The Moonseeker (2022).

L'Allunaggio del Lupo/The Lupine Lunar Landing (2025), a film directed, written, and scored by Yemi Kanmi, will be premiering in film festivals from late 2025 through 2026.

A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University's Music for New Media program, and an an alum of the Vittadini Conservatory of Pavia’s Screen Music Program, Yemi was chosen as one of twelve composers for the 2025 cohort of the Vancouver International Film Festival's Composer-Filmmaker Accelerator.

When not working, Yemi can be found learning trivia, studying languages, improving HTML/CSS skills (like with this website!), or cooking steak. A lot of steak.
